Guilherme Morais
Brazilian dancer, choreographer and pedagogue. In 2023 he was awarded the Honour of Merit prize by the Municipality of Belo Horizonte (Brazil) for his artistic contribution in the capital. In Berlin, he won the "Ikarus" award for the best children's show with the work "FLIP FLOP". In the same year, two works directed and choreographed by him premiered in the city of Belo Horizonte, "Morte vida sonho" and "Rinoceronte não dá em arvore", both with the support of the Brazilian Federal Government. Also in 2023 was a dancer in "Blazing World" by Sergiu Matis and "This is still not Normal" by Juan Dominguez and Arantxa Martinez , both at Radialsystem - Berlin.
In 2022 he was resident artist at Flutgraben Performances (Berlin), and through the Iberescena Award was resident artist in "Casa Vella" (Galicia - Spain). In 2021, the dance piece "Antes de tudo justaposto que está porvir" premiered in Brazil as a ten-hour performance in a glass box in downtown Belo Horizonte with the support of the Centro de Referencia de Dança. In the same year, with the support of the Goethe Institute, he traveled with his residency "Dança Macabra", where he performed in the cities of Florianópolis, Belo Horizonte and Fortaleza.
Choreographer in the project "Move the Forum" 2020 and 2021 (HumboldtForum), with the development of a performative invasion "This is not a game" with 30 children between 10 and 12 years old. In 2021 he was assistant director to Ricardo de Paula for "Ubiquitous Assimilation" at Gropius Bau and in 2020 "Unrestricted Contact" at Ballhaus Naunynstrasse both by Grupo Oito. Since 2020 he joined the audiovisual movement collective "Syntax Schwarz" and participated in the residencies Libken (Take Care funding) and flausen+.
